Honda Civic 2019 Review Pakistan

The new generation Honda Civic was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. The Pakistani market will soon see the launch of this car. The Honda Civic 2019 is underpinned by a new platform and it will be seen on Pakistani roads in a few months time. The Honda Civic 2019 will not only get a  petrol engine, but this time it will get a diesel as well.


The car looks more stylish, comes with a load of features and had more powerful engines too. Honda will re-introduce the Civic brand in Pakistani , which is still quite popular. The car will come with a 1.8-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. A 1.6-litre diesel is also being speculated for the Civic. The new-generation CR-V will be locally manufactured with this new diesel engine too. Honda will try to price the Civic competitively. This segment has shrunk owing to new SUVs coming in and price is a very important factor here as well. The localization of the Honda Civic 2019 will be higher than earlier. The petrol and diesel engines shall be made available. There will be a CVT (automatic) option available in petrol. The Civic 2019 will take on the likes of Toyota Corolla Altis and also the Hyundai Elantra.

Honda Civic 2019 Pakistan Exterior

The Honda Civic 2019 gets a very sporty look. Some tweaks will be made for the Pakistani market, for the car to look more premium, as Pakistani car buyers in this segment are different. There will be a lot of chrome treatment in the sedan. This car is aggressively styled and has bold lines running across. The streamlined design makes it look attractive and stylish. It gets 17-inch alloy wheels which have a machine-finished look.

The Civic 2019 has a shallow glass area makes the car look contemporary. The rear too looks suave. The tail lamp do remind you of the BR-V, to an extent. Honda’s new design philosophy looks good for sure. Sports cars from Honda, like the NS-X also looks similar. The new Civic looks well-proportioned as well.

The Honda Civic 2019 gets premium looking interiors. They are not as funky as the previous generation one, do look more sophisticated. The car on display has all black interiors, but we think that it will come with a two-tone theme. The steering wheel is large and chunky with palm supports. It gets controls on it for music, calling and there is cruise control also. There is a large touchscreen that will come with the car. It will have advanced touch sensitivity. In terms of features, there will be keyless entry, navigation, reverse parking camera, push start and stop and dual airbags as standard.

This is a spacious car as well. There is good space in the front and at the rear too. There is decent thigh support too. So it will provide a good mix of self driving and chauffeur driven comfort. The boot too is large enough on the Honda Civic 2019.

The petrol engine in the Honda Civic 2019 will be a 1.8-litre i-VTEC. It will churn out a power of 140bhp and 210Nm of torque. It will be a high revving unit and also very smooth at the same time. This engine will have strong performance without any compromise on the fuel efficiency either. Honda at the moment, is testing the 1.8-litre petrol engine for Pakistani. In other markets, there is even a 1.5-litre turbo petrol, which won’t be launched in Pakistani.

The current 1.5-litre diesel engine willpower the Civic. This will likely have 115bhp of power and about 230Nm of torque. The engine will be further refined and for Civic 2019 it will be tweaked for more power. The transmission for both engines will be a six-speed manual and the petrol will have an option of a CVT. These will be the two engines that will be offered on the Civic 2019. The petrol engine will have better performance, while the diesel shall be  a good cruiser.

Honda engines are known for their fuel efficiency. The petrol engine should return about 9km/l in the city while on the highway it will be about 14km/l. For the CVT version, the figures will change to 10km/l and 13km/l. The diesel will be fuel-efficient. This should have an efficiency of 14km/l in the city and about 19km/l on the highway.

Honda Civic 2019 Pakistani should be offered in E, S, V, VX and ZX models. The V and VX variants will be made available for automatic. Honda will offer diesel engine for all the models.
